Being A Social Guy in AI Era
This week, we hosted Founder’s Day at our office.
We usually do it once every quarter, a private gathering, founders only.
Nothing formal
No pressure
No slides
Just real people in one place having genuine conversations
The room was full of energy, ideas, and very honest conversations. I found myself doing what I naturally enjoy most: listening.
Listening to founders talk about what they are building, what’s heavy on their minds, and what keeps them awake at night.
And honestly, I caught myself thinking: THIS IS ME
This is where I feel most comfortable.
I wasn’t trying to give advice or sound smart. I was just present. Learning from people. Taking exposure- in life & business-. And yes, I genuinely enjoyed every conversation.
Let me take one step back
If you asked me:
“Mo, why do you even do these gatherings?”
My answer is simple.
Humans are not designed to build alone at all -this is by Allah’s design-. Every single person needs support at different stages of life -especially in the beginnings-. And at the same time, humans are naturally created to help and give -a normal state in Islam- but only when the intention is clear.
From my personal view, I think founders often forget this. Execution mode takes over. Daily operations. Pressure. Decisions. Speed. OMG heavily burned!
Because founders are usually the people who need to be social the most, but some people may not agree with me.. and they are right also
I have seen, the best advice never comes when you are chasing it. It comes naturally when there is no agenda. When founders talk without pitching. When stories are shared honestly.
One thought I keep coming back to:
The value is not in asking the right question, it’s in being present enough to hear the unexpected answer.
Social vs AI (let’s be real)
AI is doing amazing things.
It gives you :
On spot information.
Instant answers.
Clear mind maps.
And yes, the best restaurants in the U.S. (especially Chipotle 😄)
But there is one thing AI can’t give you Judgment.
Judgment is human.
It comes from tone, hesitation, confidence, mental focus, being fully in the moment, natural human feelings
And most importantly.. from advice that comes from someone who has actually lived it and felt it. AI cannot give you all of these!
That’s where humans still win.
One of fav persons I have ever read about is Naval, and he said:
Why we open this space at Sadu Capital
That’s exactly why we open our office to founders at Sadu Capital.
We believe these conversations matter.. especially in what feels like a distraction era. Everyone is busy. Everyone is overwhelmed. Everyone is consuming more than reflecting.
Sometimes, founders don’t need metrics, slides, or portfolio updates.
They just need a clarity spot.
A place to pause, listen, realign.
No metrics. No portfolio talk. Just belief.
One last note
We also had a very interesting discussion about Secondary Shares, led by our new partner Ahmad Takatkah, and honestly, he was the perfect person for that topic. Clear, practical, and straight from real experience.
Thank you for reading
